Onguma to Sarasonge River Lodge

Day 9 - 30th January 2007

An 8.00am start after a damp night, and we departed for Rundu and more of a taste of a more “raw” Africa. Very conscious of not letting anything valuable out of our sight. Refuel in Rundu and head for Grootfontein where we break for shopping (mainly for lunch). Join the Okavangu river and stop at the Sarasonge River Lodge. We have an abortive attempt to visit Angola, and eventually settle for a boat trip down the river in a small powered boat when cross border officialdom becomes insurmountable.

Eventually retire to comfortable (except John’s) chalets, and dinner. Armed guards patrolling the premises provide some reassurance
