It was decided to create an award to commemorate our absent colleague.
The “Golden Latte” award was created in the spirit of “Not quite being there”.
Initially envisaged as a marker in the purely physical sense, but later decided that it should also be awarded to those distinguished in being somewhat absent in the mental faculty as well.
The first winner of the award was Crocbait (John) for failing to attend the first team meeting on time (8.00am in the morning of the 5th January). He consistently managed to retain the award for most of the expedition, and as a consequence wins it for perpetuity!
