Apologies for those who have been looking up here for info on the trip to no avail. As you might imagine, in the depths of Africa, you are lucky to find a phone, let alone Internet access. Despite feeble earlier attempts, I am now updating as quickly as possible with accumulated diary info and photos. As I write, the team are safely back home. No injuries or problems.

For those of you who don't know, this site is to document the journey of six motorbikes and one support vehicle from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt (well sort of - Cairo is more of a vague direction, border escorts & restrictions make it look more unlikely by the day). The team have just undertaken the first part of the journey, taking 5 weeks to cover the 7000 odd kilometres from Cape Town to Nairobi. The final triumphant ride into Nairobi being thwarted by a gentleman of dubious parentage in Kenyan customs.

The bikes, impounded at the Kenyan border at Namanga have now been released and are being stored in Nairobi (very many thanks to Rennie).

P.S. For those trying to call the assorted Iridium satellite phones, they probably get the "Chocolate Fireguard" prize for the venture. How someone like Osama can run an evil empire on such an item, is a mystery to all of us. I personally suspect september 11th was probably down to a misunderstood pizza order.

P.P.S. For some weird reason, Firefox seems to autosize the full detail images when you click on them, whereas in Internet Explorer it is rendered full size. I am trying to solve the problem!
